Hi, I’m Kiera, the hands and heart behind Pebble + Fern.
After spending years working in elementary school, I took a step back to try something new and found myself in a more routine desk job. While it gave me space and time to bring Pebble + Fern to life, I soon realized how much I missed the lively, fast-paced energy of education and the endless curiosity of my students.
Recently, I’ve returned to teaching in a part-time capacity, which has allowed me to rejoin that community while expanding my commitment to Pebble + Fern.
The idea for Pebble + Fern came from a desire to create, a curiosity to explore a “new medium,” and the freedom to carry my work with me on my travels. Beadwork may feel new to me now, but in many ways, it’s a piece of my past that I’ve found my way back to. As a kid, I looked forward to magical visits to the bead store with my stepmom, where we’d spend hours exploring different colors, shapes, and possibilities. Some of my earliest pieces were made from secondhand beads gifted by my great-mémé, and I remember spending endless hours creating and experimenting.
Creating jewelry now feels like coming home after a long adventure—familiar, comforting, and deeply fulfilling. Each piece is crafted with care and love, and I hope they carry a sense of joy and strength to everyone who wears them. Stepping away from the desk job to return to teaching has also meant I can bring Pebble + Fern to more in-person events, like markets, art shows, and farmers markets, which has been incredibly rewarding.
My wish is that these earrings bring a little spark of joy to your day, making you feel grounded, uplifted, and ready for whatever comes your way. Thank you for being part of this journey with me!
